The Cacao Pearl, Palawan is an ancient tropical island within the world's most pristine archipelago. Now launched by Jet2Let Property Ltd.
The Cacao Pearl, Palawan: the world's first non-profit and luxury eco-resort community to commit 100 per cent of operating profits to environmental protection and social improvements will be built on a 124 acre private island in the Calamianes archipelago, at the northern most tip of the Palawan Biosphere Reserve in the Philippines.
The Philippines is a region famous for its pure natural pearls and marine treasures, with a vibrant history of 16th century Spanish Conquistadores, and the pioneering Chinese traders of 5BC.
Set in 116 acres of lush rainforest, fringed by eight pristine beaches and two coral reefs, this ethical resort offers a five star service, two pool lounges (and of course, the cliff-edge infinity experience), wreck and reef diving, plus a decadent spa, tropical fruit everywhere, herbal gardens, several bars and an organic-fusion restaurant, the Montalban. Only ten percent of the island will be developed - no further development will take place - ever.
In a world of crowds and mass-production, the Cacao Pearl remains a rarity with paparazzi free beaches, hidden treasures and secluded coves, beyond eco and hand-crafted beachfront residences, with bespoke architecture and interiors to suit, all under the creative direction of former Hollywood Art Director, Antonio Calvo.
Recognition for this luxurious resort has already arrived in the shape of a prestigious CNBC International Property Award for "Best Development" in the Asia Pacific Awards 2009.
Two signature residence styles will decorate this tropical island. The Sinan Residence, so named after the early Chinese compass used by traders to find their way across Asia in search of silk and spices. It is also a reference towards Mimar Sinan, an innovative architect of the 16th century Ottoman Empire. This residence will circle the islands 2km beach and offer stunning views of the South China Sea.
